A very noticeable amount of press has surrounded the beleaguered record company of EMI and it would seem that anyone who wants to get into the record business should stop sending their hip hop samples to the company as it will likely be sold off in pieces by Citi. A few firms have expressed interest in buying part of the label including BMG and a German conglomerate named Bertelsmann Group. It is likely that the German company will take over the publishing company with Sony also looking to take a part of the company as well.
